iFF - initiative Freiheitliche Frauen

The Freedom Party’s women's organisation bears the name "initiative Freiheitliche Frauen" (initiative Freedom Party Women, or iFF) and is an independent association with regional groups in all nine Austrian provinces. The iFF sees itself as a point of contact for women and run by women. Its Austria-wide organisation is led by a federal chairwoman. Membership in the individual provincial groups is possible.

The iFF campaigns for the protection of women's interests in the fields of family, work, health, social affairs and security. Focal points include, for example, ensuring the compatibility of work and family, whilst simultaneously safeguarding freedom of choice; the salary and pension situation of women, as well as the fight against Islamist efforts to restrict the freedom of women in Austria. At the same time, a clear coexistence of the sexes is promoted.

In recent years, the Freiheitliche Frauen have also increasingly addressed the issues of security and of violence against women. In this context, the iFF offers, among other things, free safety and self-defence courses for girls and women and it also demands harsher punishment for sexual and violent crime.
