Styrian Young Academy

From 5-6 April 2024 participants in the second module of the Styrian Young Academy went on an educational trip to Vienna.

The first day of seminars began with a guided tour of FPÖ-TV led by Christian Schuch and presenter Lisa Gubik that was designed to give the visitors insights into the media work of the party’s information channel. This was followed by a discussion with Christoph Steiner, the chairman of the FPÖ grouping in the Federal Council, on the mission and importance of this chamber of parliament that represents the provinces and how it works. In the afternoon, a trip to Vienna City Hall was on the agenda.

The second day of the seminar featured a guided tour of Austria’s parliament with Member of the Federal Chamber Markus Leinfellner. Participants were able to learn a great deal of important information about parliament, its two chambers, the tasks of the National Council and the Federal Council, such as proposing, deliberating and passing laws, as well as exercising control functions in relation to the Austrian Federal Government. There was also plenty of opportunity to discuss Austrian politics.
