Start of the Young Academy 2024
Politics and Political Management Programme
On 15 March 2024, the Young Academy began its eleventh class in Vienna. The Young Academy is a part-time nationwide training programme on Politics and Political Management run by the FPÖ Political Academy. It targets dedicated young people with an interest in politics and takes place in six in-class modules.
FBI Vice President Harald Stefan and FBI Managing Director Dr. Klaus Nittmann MSc. welcomed about 20 young politicians who had come to Vienna from all federal states for the first module “Basics of Communication”. They emphasised the importance of high-quality training for young people that imparts knowledge and skills thus creating competitive advantages.
Participants were highly motivated and showed great interest as they completed the first seminar weekend which included theoretical and practical sessions on topics such as receiver-orientated communication, body language, public speaking and self-motivation.
The Young Academy has already trained more than 150 young politicians for their work at the local level, in provincial parliaments and in the Austrian parliament. The programme developed by course leader Dietmar Heuritsch defines itself as a comprehensive training programme that provides practical tools for political competition. It covers the areas of communication and rhetoric, fundamentals of the state and Freedom Party Programmes and Policies, history of the Republic of Austria and political parties, PR and marketing, media training, political management and leadership.
