The political system in Austria
Seminar in Tyrol
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, a seminar entitled “The political system in Austria” was held at Innsbruck.
The seminar covered central topics of the Austrian political system, in particular state structures, basic concepts of the political order and the most important institutions of the state. A special focus was placed on the differentiation and interaction of various political levels – both at national level and in the context of the European Union.
Another focus was on the structural principles of the Austrian Federal Constitution and the democratic, constitutional and federalist principles. In addition, the legislative process was presented in detail – from the submission of a legislative proposal to its promulgation. Other topics included the role of the social partnership, the instruments of direct democracy, the main features of Austrian foreign policy, co-determination in companies and the political party landscape in Austria.
