Module II of the Europe Academy 2025
EU economic, monetary and transport policy
On June 27 and 28, 2025, the second module of the Europe Academy took place in Vienna with a focus on “EU economic, monetary and transport policy”. After an introduction by course director Dietmar Holzfeind, the participants were given an in-depth overview of EU transport policy. Afterwards, former MEP Ursula Stenzel shared personal impressions and experiences from her many years of political activity with the participants.
The program also included a presentation on EU economic and monetary policy, in which the role of the euro, the ECB, the ESM, the banking union and EU deposit protection were discussed in particular, as well as contributions on EU trade policy. A presentation by Dr. Walter Gehr, former Head of Cabinet at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who discussed current developments in the field of artificial intelligence and the EU government's perspective, made it clear how technical innovations are interwoven with European policy-making.
