"Media Up Close" - Professional Press Relations

The second module of the Media Academy was held from 14 to 15 June 2019. On the

agenda was a visit to the editorial office of the newspaper "Die Presse", where editor-in-

chief and publisher Rainer Nowak offered insights into the editorial work.

The curriculum also included units on the topics of "Working Methods of Print, Radio and

TV Journalism”, “Successful PR Planning” and “From Press Release to Press

Conference”.

The Media Academy is offered by the FBI for interested persons active in this area and

consists of five modules in Vienna that can be taken alongside regular employment. The

academy teaches skills relevant to the areas of political public relations, professional

press relations, digital communication, crisis PR and media law.
