Strengthening families – securing the future
Paths to a socially just family policy
Families are the nucleus of life, places of security in which children can grow up lovingly. But current surveys show a worrying development: the desire to have children is decreasing, mainly due to fears about the future. Can a sustainable women's and family policy counteract these fears?
A discussion event on this topic took place in Wörgl on September 12, 2024. After the welcome by Carmen Schimanek and an introductory lecture by Prof. Güter Danhel, family expert and former director of the Institute for Marriage and Family (IEF), he was joined on the podium by MP Rosa Ecker, MBA, area spokesperson for equal treatment, family and senior citizens, MP Gudrun Kofler, BA, area spokesperson for family and women's affairs, and Katharina Pawkowicz-Herbert, author and mother of a daughter and triplets.
