Dr. Axel Kassegger

At the general meeting of the Political Academy of the Freedom Party of Austria (FBI) on September 1, 2021, FPÖ Member of the National Council Hon. Prof. MMMag. Dr. Axel Kassegger was unanimously elected as the new president.

Axel Kassegger has been working at the interface between science, business and politics for more than 20 years. He studied law (Dr. iur. 1997), business administration (Mag. rer. soc. oec. 1994) and sports science (Mag. phil. 1996) at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz. The entrepreneur was and is a lecturer at universities of applied sciences and universities in Austria and abroad. He began his political career in 1987 with the Ring Freiheitlicher Studenten and has long held various political positions within the liberal community. Axel Kassegger has been a member of the FPÖ National Council since 2013 and was, among other things, chairman of the parliamentary science committee, science and economics spokesman for the Freedom Party parliamentary group and is currently foreign policy spokesman and energy spokesman. He has published on energy policy issues and most recently on Austrian economic and location policy. Axel Kassegger is a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE and the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
