"The EU as a foreign policy actor – EU trade policy in an international context"

On September 12 and 13, 2025, the third module of the European Academy took place in Vienna. Under the title “The EU as a foreign policy actor – EU trade policy in an international context,” key issues of European foreign and security policy and international trade policy were discussed. Participants gained in-depth insight into the fundamentals of EU trade policy, including selected free trade agreements.

The program also covered the European Union's regional policy and the funding instruments available. Another focus was on current environmental and climate policy issues, particularly regarding the EU Green Deal and the Paris Climate Agreement. The module was rounded off by guest lectures and fireside chats with politicians with international connections, which facilitated the exchange of practical experiences.
