Educational Trip to Brussels
EU Politics Close Up!
The foreign module of the Europe Academy 2023/24 took place from 10 April to 13 April 2024. In the course of this module, participants flew to Brussels to follow the work of the individual EU institutions such as the EU Parliament and the EU Commission.
On the first day, the group went to the EU Parliament. Here an exchange of ideas with the president of the Identity and Democracy group (ID) Marco Zanni (LEGA) as well as with other members of the ID group was on the agenda. After visiting a plenary session course participants went to visit the Permanent Representation of Austria to the European Union. Here, they were informed about the duties and activities of the liaison offices. The first day ended with a visit to the House of European History.
On the second day, the group visited the EU Commission and the Belgian Senate. During the latter, there was a guided tour by a member of parliament for the Belgian party Vlaams Belang. This year’s foreign module was rounded off with a guided tour through the historic quarter of Brussels.
